Wild Prints: Nature in Linocut

  • Mooloolah River Landcare 2671 Steve Irwin Wy Glenview, QLD, 4553 Australia (map)

Join me for a hands-on introduction to linocut printmaking, celebrating the rich beauty and intricate detail of the natural world at the Mooloolah River Landcare Seed Pod.

This beginner-friendly workshop will focus on native butterflies and moths, offering a beautiful starting point for your designs. You are also welcome to bring your own reference materials if you have something specific you’d like to explore.

Throughout the day, I will guide you through:

  • Observing and sketching natural forms, and translating textures and patterns into linocut designs

  • Learning the fundamentals of linocut printmaking — from carving and inking to hand-printing using a variety of papers and tools

  • Creating your own unique, nature-inspired prints to take home — ready to frame or gift

You’ll also leave with your carved lino block, so you can continue printing beyond the workshop, along with the prints you create during the session.

Whether you're completely new to printmaking or looking to deepen your creative connection with nature, this workshop offers a relaxed and supportive space to slow down, learn new skills, and engage with the beauty of the local environment.

About Megan

I’m a Sunshine Coast–based artist working on Kabi Kabi / Gubbi Gubbi Country. I’ve been printmaking since I was 14, creating detailed linocut works inspired by Australia’s native flora, fauna, and landscapes. My practice is grounded in a deep respect for the natural world, with a focus on fostering greater appreciation and care for its diversity. I love sharing this knowledge with others and look forward to welcoming you to a workshop! You can read more about my work below.
